DEEP DROP FISHING PT06 – GREY BANDED COD & USING THE RIGHT HOOKS

In this segment, Nick shows you why you should use a circle hook rig for very deep water.

Earlier, they caught a tuna for fresh bait and many reef fish prefer this over almost anything else.

Watch them turn that tuna into a Grey Banded Cod.

“The grey banded cod, like most ultra deep water demersal species, is an exceptionally good eating fish that is sought after by many in the angling community.

“They have proven themselves to be a rather difficult species to target over the years, with many being accidentally caught whilst fishing for other deep water demersal species such as the Western Australian Dhufish etc.

“The grey banded cod is an elusive species that is highly rated on most anglers hit lists but usually lives in deeper waters where Dhufish are rare.”
